Condition
The canvas has been relined. There is a pattern of fine craquelure notably in the sky. Ultra-violet light reveals areas of old residual varnish, some areas of strengthening in the sky and some scattered areas of retouching including:
some strokes in the sky both in the upper right and upper left, possibly addressing some old restoration;
and some other small scattered spots in the foliage of the trees in the centre of the composition and along the lower framing edge.
The picture is otherwise overall in good condition, presents well and is ready to hang.
Presented in a decorative gilt frame.
