Description

- 19.4cm., 7 3/4 in., 22.5cm., 8 7/8 in. and 23.3cm., 9 1/8 in. high
probably Thuringian, comprising two similar examples painted in colours with a stag in a landscape, the smaller example with painted BPL(?) monogram to underside, the third example with a powdered-manganese ground reserving a blue cartouche of a stag within a blue scrollwork frame, the mounts of the similar examples dated 1813 and 1809,
Condition
The example in the left of the illustration, there is some glaze crazing to the surface, and five small glaze flakes to the rim;
The example in the middle of the illustration, there is a hairline crack at the rim which extends to the foot and branches into two smaller cracks. The pewter mount has split and is loose.
The example in the right of the illustration, there is a hairline crack on the left side which extends from the rim approximately 3/4 of the length of the tankard.
