Catalogue Note
A description of Lake Cerknica in Carniola (modern Slovenia), which is a seasonal lake drained in the summer when the level of water falls beneath that required to fill up the underground chambers beneath the lake. It is an area rich in fish and birds, and the plates in this work also depict hunting deer and exploring the caves around the lake.
