Catalogue Note
FIRST EDITION of this anti-hunting polemic by the Lutheran Spangenberg, a minister in Eisleben, criticising the nobility's obsession with hunting; see lots 251-252 for subsequent editions. Spangenberg later complied a volume of Teufelbücher, displaying the evils of not just hunting but also drinking and gambling. For the first biography of him, see lot 130).
