Iagt Buch No. 1", engraved brass cornerpieces and clasps depicting animals, gilt and gauffered edges with the arms of Saxony, title-page dated 1670, fols. 154-160 lacking, lacking straps and some cornerpieces, light wear to covers

A truly sumptuous hunting record of Johann Georg II, Elector of Saxony (1613-1680) - known for his ostentation - for the years 1657-1677. From fol. 231, exact shooting scores for members of the electoral family are given: in 1673, Johann Georg IV, at the tender age of five, is recorded as having bagged 3 badgers and a hamster.
