Condition
This work is in good condition overall. The canvas is unlined and well-stretched. The colors are vibrant. Light wear is present along each of the extreme edges of the canvas. Isolated areas of fine craquelure are present in the following locations: a six-inch circular area around the proper left eye of the figure; a five by two inch vertical area in the nose of the figure, and an eight inch square area in the fingers of the hand; however, all of these areas are stable. A few additional isolated lines of fine craquelure are present in the pupil of the proper right eye of the figure. Under ultraviolet light examination, a fine vertical line of inpainting measuring three inches in length is present along the extreme upper right edge. Additional fluorescence occurs throughout due to the pigments utilized by the artist.
