A Balenciaga couture embroidered gros de Naples silk gown, 1953, Eisa labelled, with wrap-over bodice, mandarin collar, embroidered with raised-work silk chenille carnations with paste-plaque applique tendrils, down the sleeves and front panels, attached rouleaux tie belt, bust 86m, 34in, waist 64cm, 25in. See ‘Balenciaga’ by the Cristobal Balenciaga Museum pp200-201 Overall the silk is generally good, hem has been raised approx. 5cm. The tips of the flowers have faded in places
