Condition

The medium is oil on canvas. The canvas is not lined. The work is in good overall condition with some undulation throughout, most pronounced near the top of the canvas. There is good impasto overall. There is a small loss about 1 inch away from the face, in the hair on the viewer's left. Under UV: There are several areas of inpainting: in the shirt at left, in the hair and background center left, and in the background, center right. There are a few other smaller stray strokes of inpainting in the shirt, at right. The colors are strong and the work presents very well overall.
