Description

  • marked on neck left of handle IE and IA each in quatrefoil punch (Edwards - Kane mark A; Allen - Kane mark B)
  • Silver
  • height 4 1/8 in.
  • 10.2cm
modelled after a pottery form derived from China, of baluster form, engraved with contemporary crest, the cylindrical neck with two bands of reeding, the reeded strapwork handle with shaped terminals, on short molded foot, engraved circa 1880 underneath with initials "AS to MC"

The crest is that of Southack.

split to rim, three old reparied rim splits, some dings to body but none through, , as noted re later initials on base, good condition
