Condition

Very good overall condition, as viewed.Very minor flaking and light toning- otherwise in very good condition. Verso: Backed with old paper with blue ink notation (scratched out). lightly sketched circular shapes visible. Numbers inscribed. Conservator's hinging tape applied in spots. Conservation framed.

Catalogue Note

A maharaja instructs his minister, who bows respectfully and gestures, holding the edge of his muslin scarf.  Four courtiers stand attentively.  On a brilliant cinnabar red terrace and arched white marble architecture.  Black foliate-design inner borders with red outer borders with white ruled lines. 

Inscribed above in black ink nasta'liq script.
