Condition

The medium is charcoal and pastel on buff paper. The sheet is attached at all edges to the mat backing, with hinging tape, recto (covering the extreme edges of the sheet). The work is in good overall condition. There are pinholes in the upper corners. There is a small hole in the top margin at center, not visible in the current framing. There is a minor tear, mostly covered by the hinging tape, in the extreme left edge, 5 in. down from the top. There are a few signs of old aciding tape along the extreme edges, and a line of what appears to be a surface stain in the upper right quadrant, in the background There is some mat stain and the paper appears to have darkened gently from light exposure. The media are very bright and vibrant, and the work presents very well overall.
