Condition

Executed on cream wove paper which has not been laid down. The sheet is hinged to the mat window along its top edge. There are some traces of old glue to the the left edge. The left edge irregular because it has been taken out of a sketch book. There is a pin dot hole to the center of the left edge. There is a minor loss to the lower left corner. Recto: The ink from the verso of the sheet is clearly visible to the recto in the upper right quadrant (as visible in the catalogue illustration). The pigment is fresh and strong. There is a light uniform fading to the sheet. There is minor studio surface dirt. There is minor mat staining around the periphery of the sheet. Verso: There is minor studio surface dirt throughout the composition and there is a light minor surface stain in the upper right quadrant.
