Condition
The bronze features a mottled dark brown patina highlighted with a few spots of emerald green and reddish brown. Surface is dirty with areas of accretion to the right of the inscribed signature and below the signature. There is a buildup of verdigris most notable in the negative space between the three figures though also visible around the bottom edges of the sculptures base. Overall the work is in good condition.

Catalogue Note
This subject was never published during the lifetime of the artist, although it has been exhibited in plaster on numerous occasions, most notably in the great exhibition in Paris in 1900 and at the Manès Union of Artists in Prague in the spring of 1902. This edition of bronzes is particularly interesting because it is the first complete numbered series commissioned by the Musée Rodin.
