Condition
(I) The canvas is unlined. There is some light craquelure to the background and some minor surface dirt and varnish yellowing. When examined under UV light, there is no evidence of over-painting to the pigment. There is a minor imperfection to the canvas located to the right side of the sitter's face which is present upon close inspection but does not detract from the overall impression of the work. The work is in very good condition.
(II) The canvas is unlined. There is some light craquelure to the left half of the canvas in particular and some minor surface dirt and varnish yellowing. When examined under UV light, there is no evidence of over-painting to the pigment. The work is in very good condition.
