Condition

The canvas is not lined. Examination under UV light reveals no evident signs of retouching. There is a dent towards the centre of the upper edge with some associated minor pigment loss. There are some flecks of pigment loss to the green pigment of the foliage at the left-hand side of the bouquet and in places to the flowers, and there are some additional small losses to the right of the shell in the lower right quadrant and in places to the centre of the extreme right edge. There is a further spot of pigment loss to the lower right corner of the icon. The canvas is slightly undulating and there are some fly spots in places. There is a lovely thick impasto and this work is in overall good condition.
