The canvas is lined. There is a milky varnish layer preventing UV light from fully penetrating. However, there appear to be some retouchings to the upper right corner. UV examination reveals areas of fluorescence running through the signature and to the water, possibly pertaining to the varnish layer. There is an old tacking line along the upper edge with filled in and retouched tacking holes. There are fine lines of paint shrinkage in places, predominantly to the sky. There are some very minor flecks of paint loss to the left part of the lower edge and centre of the right edge. This work is in overall good condition.
