Condition

The canvas is not lined. Examination under UV light reveals some spots of retouching in places to the extreme edges, consistent with frame rubbing, and some associated flecks of pigment loss. There are some further spots of retouching towards the centre of the lower edge. There is some craquelure in places, in particular to the thicker pigments. There are some minor flecks of paint loss visible to the blue pigment at the centre of the composition and a further spot to the left hand side of the mast. This work is in overall good condition.
