Condition

The movement is running at time of cataloguing, however it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Please note that Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement. Case is in excellent condition with light wear consistent with occasional use. Some very light oxidation visible at the case bezel at 2. Very light and small scratches to the case bezel between 5-8 and 10-12. An indentation to the lower left lug. Some wear to the left side case band likely from opening and closing. Brushed case back in overall excellent condition. Dial in very good condition and likely washed with one darker surface dot between 2-3. Two very light surface markings or dots at 5 and 6. Hands with some light wear. Movement in excellent condition. Please be advised that the bands on this watch are made of materials derived from endangered or otherwise protected species (i.e. alligator and crocodile) and thus not sold with the watch, they are for display purposes only. We will remove these bands prior to shipping.

Accompanied by an Extract from the Archives confirming year of manufacture in 1952 and sale on February 25th, 1953. Together with a Patek Philippe leather case.

Ref. 2482 began in 1950. This particular example is in fine condition with a clean and unusual two tone dial. An example of this model with similar dial layout is illustrated in Huber, M. & Banbery, A., Patek Philippe Wristwatches, Vol. II, p. 205.
