Catalogue Note

Accompanied by an F.P. Journe certificate of authenticity card, an instruction booklet, a polishing cloth, and a presentation box with outer packaging.

F.P. Journe first introduced the highly sleek and robust tantalum case with the Chronomètre Bleu. Tantalum is a beautiful and extremely strong metal with blue overtones, but rarely seen in watchmaking as it is very hard and difficult to manipulate. It is further enhanced by the blue chrome dial, and acutely sized Arabic numerals iconic to F.P. Journe.

The Chronomètre Bleu's striking movement offers an illusion, with the balance and escapement seemingly detached from the rest of movement, and beating with no apparent energy source. In fact, the connecting train is hidden under the dial, allowing the balance to stand out.
