Catalogue Note

Accompanied by a Rolex King Midas Urn inspired presentation box.

Gerald Genta designed this iconic model as an homage to the infamous mythological figure, King Midas.  He drew inspiration for the design from the geometric architecture in ancient Greece, specifically the Parthenon Temple in Athens.  The King Midas watch is created from a single block of 18 karat white or yellow gold.  Each watch is accompanied by a presentation box inspired by a traditional Greek urn painted in the Black Figure technique. Genta gives a small nod to King Midas by creating this piece for those who are left handed, as everything Midas touched with his left hand turned to gold.
