Ref. 3800 was manufactured from 1981 to 2006, with pieces in platinum listed only until 2002. Designed by Gerald Genta, the Nautilus sport watch was inspired by portholes found on transatlantic sea vessels and represents one of Patek Philippe's most iconic pieces.
Examples of Ref. 3800/1 are illustrated in Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, Patek Philippe Wristwatches, 2nd ed., 1998, p. 181.
