Condition

The movement is running at time of cataloguing, however it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Please note that Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement. Case in overall excellent condition with light wear. One surface marking to the chamfered bezel between 12-1. A very light area of scuffing to the top of the bezel. Upper left side of the case band to the lug has a small dot shaped indentation. Bracelet with some very light wear. Date function working properly. Dial and movement in excellent condition.

Catalogue Note

Accompanied by an Extract from the Archives confirming year of manufacture in 1995 and date of sale on November 20th, 1997. Together with an additional link and a Patek Philippe presentation box with outer packaging.

Ref. 3800 was manufactured from 1981 to 2006, with pieces in platinum listed only until 2002. Designed by Gerald Genta, the Nautilus sport watch was inspired by portholes found on transatlantic sea vessels and represents one of Patek Philippe's most iconic pieces.
