Catalogue Note
Accompanied by Rolex sales tags, a bi-fold, additional booklets, a polishing cloth, and a presentation box with outer packaging.
In the mid 1970s, Rolex developed their own quartz movement caliber and introduced it in a cutting edge angular case, Ref. 17000. Rolex patrons were resistant to the Oysterquartz Datejust but were captivated by the stylized shape of the of the case with a more geometric aesthetic.
The present model, Ref. 1530, was released around this time in the iconic Oysterquartz case with an automatic movement, cal. 1570. Today, these models are collectible because of their limited production run and unique modern shape.
