• cal. 72, manual nickel lever escapement, 17 jewels • silvered dial, painted luminescent Arabic numerals, blued steel luminescent hands, engine turned subsidiary dials for the constant seconds, 30-minute and 12-hour registers, painted black outer minute track with red telemeter scale, outermost blue tachometer scale • stainless steel case, chronograph pushers and crown to the case band, solid screw down case back • case, dial, and movement signed 

Condition

The movement is running at time of cataloguing, however it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Please note that Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement. Case in overall fair vintage condition with wear, scratches, and scuffing consistent with age and use. Small indentations to the upper and lower left lugs. Smaller markings and scuffing to the right lugs. case bands with heavy wear. Crystal with scratches, especially between 12-1. Scuffing and wear to the case back. Dial in overall fair condition with heavy oxidation to the luminescent numerals. Many of which have become dark in color. Light spotting throughout. Chronograph functions properly. Movement in excellent condition. Please be advised that the bands on this watch are made of materials derived from endangered or otherwise protected species (i.e. alligator and crocodile) and thus not sold with the watch, they are for display purposes only. We will remove these bands prior to shipping.
