Condition

Please be advised that the bands on this watch are made of materials derived from endangered or otherwise protected species (i.e. alligator and crocodile) and thus not sold with the watch, they are for display purposes only. We will remove these bands prior to shipping. Case in overall very good condition with wear, light scuffing and scratches consistent with age and use. Bezel light surface markings throughout. Oxidation to the bezel pearl. Some scratches and surface dots to the case back. Dial in overall good vintage condition with light oxidation to the luminescent indexes. Darker oxidation to the hands. An area of loss to the luminescence of the minute hand. Bracelet with light wear and is expandable.

Catalogue Note

Accompanied by a Rolex leather bi-fold, a sales tag, and a Rolex presentation box with outer packaging.

Rolex launched the Ref. 16660 in 1978 as a replacement for the earlier Ref. 1665. This newer model featured a sapphire crystal, as well as a quick-set date function. With the stronger crystal, the model was rated to 4,000 ft, rather than the earlier model's 2,000 ft.
