  • yellow gold, alligator
  • length 35 mm
• manual winding nickel lever movement, 18 jewels • silvered dial, painted black Roman numerals, inner minute track, blued steel hands • 18k yellow gold Santos case, cabochon sapphire set crown, snap on case back secured by four screws to the case band • dial and movement signed, case hand stamped with Cartier reference numbers

Condition

The movement is running at time of cataloguing, however it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Please note that Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement. Case in overall worn condition with heavy wear, oxidation, scuffing and scratches consistent with age and use. Oxidized indented scratch mark at the base of the right lug. Faded scratch mark at the base and two indentations to the upper area of the left lug. Lower lugs with scuffing and light scratches. Oxidation to case at the perimeter of the screw set bezel. Dial in poor condition with heavy oxidation from the perimeter radiating inward. Oxidation to the blue steel hands, signs of scuffing and some pigment loss to the painted text. Case back and movement in fairly good condition. Please be advised that the bands on this watch are made of materials derived from endangered or otherwise protected species (i.e. alligator and crocodile) and thus not sold with the watch, they are for display purposes only. We will remove these bands prior to shipping.
