Case in excellent condition with no visible blemishes, only a few tiny surface hairlines to the bezel but they can hardly be seen. Launched in 2015 as an exclusive to North America authorized dealer, the Richard Mille RM 011 “Midnight Fire” gets its name from the dark black Tetragonal Zirconia Polycrystal ceramic tonneau-form case; both scratch and fracture resistant at room temperature, the present lot has a very fine grain that allows for a fine finishing.
The centre case band of the tri-part case is made from NTPT® (North Thin Ply Technology) carbon which is used in aerospace technology, Formula 1 race car design and the manufacture of racing sales. Thus, the material is especially durable and light as it is made from numerous layers of parallel filaments obtained by dividing carbon fibres.

With 55 hours power reserve, the hour and minute indicators bring a pop of colour with a bright shade of red, hence the fire, and are placed over the skeletonized automatic movement. Limited to only 88 pieces, this is a staple piece for watch collectors looking to combine technical mastery with innovative design.
