• verge movement, visible ruby set balance, fusee and chain, all the train mechanism on the lower plate, visible cam wheels for calendar functions on the upper plate • five enamel dials, centre dial indicating the time, upper dial for the date, right dial showing months also with its key winding device, the one below for lunar calendar on 29 1/2, dial to the left with days of the week, aperture for the balance • gilt case with a push button screw to the side to release the top lid, on the reverse a central polychrome painted enamel panel depicting Christ on the cross • signed on the dial

 

Condition

Movement not running while cataloguing, a service is recommended for it to be fully operational. Enamel dials are in good condition. Case with signs of wear due to aging, one screw missing to the band on the left hand side which can easily be replaced. Back enamel panel depicting the Christ on the cross with a visible hairline. Overall, this is a rare and unusual piece from the period. The watch has not been tested to determine the accuracy of its timekeeping.
