Oil on canvas. The picture surface is clean and in overall good condition. Under UV light, there are a few small, scattered retouches evident, though these have been very finely applied. In overall good condition and ready to hang.

This paintings is distinguished not only by the beautiful rendering of the scene, but by the fact that it is dedicated to Brandon’s friend and follow artist, Pierre Puvis de Chavannes.

Brandon and Puvis de Chavannes had a long association and each owned several works by the other (see Aimée Brown Price, Pierre Puvis de Chavannes, I: The Artist and His Art).
