Description

  • Jadeite, wood (Pinus strobus)
  • Cabbage approximately 136.30 x 75.56 x 56.16mm.
The semi-translucent jadeite of two-coloured tone, carved as a Chinese cabbage symbolising prosperity and good fortune, suffused with deep and intense green streaks to the lighter background, graduating to yellow colour carved as a weaved basket, to the opaque jadeite base carved as lotus leaf of white and pale green colour, further decorated with carved snails and beetle, fitted case.

Condition

Accompanied by Hong Kong Jade & Stone Laboratory certificate numbered SJ 152905, dated 29 June 2017, stating that the jadeite tested is natural, known in the trade as "A Jade". Please refer to the certificate for further details. Well carved, jadeite cabbage of semi-translucent material, light green graduating to brownish yellow colour, suffused with deep and intense green streaks; the jadeite lotus leaf of opaque and white to pale green colour, with some bright apple green specks and a few steaks of matrix. Upon strong illumination, there are clouds and some internal fissures with a few are surface reaching, but not obvious under normal lighting. Overall in very good condition. Accompanied by a display glass case.
