Description

  • Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance
  • A Unique "Ammonite" Shelf
  • two-tone patinated steel

Provenance

Mallet Antiques, New York
Acquired from the above by the present owner, 2012

Condition

Overall very good condition consistent with age. The bookshelf presents with an interesting variation of steel tones, from patinated to a brushed steel. This is difficult to discern in the catalogue illustration, so please contact the department for additional photos. The metal surfaces present with faint and minor surface scratches and a few scattered nicks, all consistent with gentle use. One shelf (third shelf on right) with some very minor loss to finish on inner edge and subsequent oxidation. The bottom support of the shelf is executed in a rich, black lacquered steel. This presents with a few scattered and minor chips (approx. ¼ in.) and scratches which expose some of the base metal. Please note this work ships as a single unit. The weight is 900lbs. A dynamic form that presents exceptionally well overall.
