Condition

Overall in very good condition. The surfaces present with scattered scuffs, scratches and shallow dents consistent with age and use. The seat has been recaned. The outer edge of the seat frame with drips to the varnish and scattered expected abrasions throughout, partially visible in the catalogue illustration. The legs with minor scattered dents concentrated to the outer edges and bases of the feet. The inside areas of three legs have been professionally and sensitively restored and are stable, the largest overall area of restoration measuring approximately 7 ¾ x 1 ¼ x ½ in. The stretchers with minor hairlines throughout, consistent with age and use and stable. The underside of one stretcher with an angular loss, measuring approximately 5 ¼ x 7/8 in., not visually distracting and visible in the catalogue illustration. The same stretcher with a replaced area measuring approximately 1 x 3 in., stable and not visually distracting. The stool has been revarnished at some point. A wonderful example of this model whose condition reflects its history.
