Condition
Overall in good condition. The glazed earthenware surfaces of the Jouve ashtray with a few minor air bubbles and surface irregularities inherent in the making and not visually distracting, and a few small and scattered surface scratches consistent with age and use. The proper left of the ashtray with a minor hairline crack to the interior of the paw, which has been sensitively stabilized and the overall finish restored. The proper right bottom edge of the paw with a minor restoration, measuring ⅛ x ⅜ in. and not visible when the ashtray is placed on its base. The metal surfaces of the Matégot base have been relacquered and present with a few minor surface irregularities, surface scratches and minor dents consistent with age and gentle use. A very dynamic design and nice example of a collaboration between Jouve and Matégot.
