Condition

Overall very good condition. When viewed in person, the straw marquetry presents with a redder and richer hue than seen in the printed catalogue illustration, with a wonderful variety of colors in the marquetry. The surfaces with a few light surface scratches, and a few occasional and minute edge abrasions consistent with age and gentle handling. The top proper right corner of the proper left panel with a minor chip to the back, not visually distracting. A few occasional straw elements have been stabilized throughout, and some straw elements have been replaced, mostly along the perimeter of the screen. A few minor and isolated losses to the straw marquetry along the perimeter, not visually distracting, the largest one measuring ½ inches in length. A very delicate creation by Jean-Michel Frank, displaying a wonderful work of straw marquetry.
