Condition
Overall in good condition. The wood surfaces with a few surface scratches, minor edge abrasions and light surface soiling consistent with age and gentle use. The mirror with some worm holes to the perimeter, not visually distracting. The parchment appears to be original, the painted decoration was possibly enhanced at some point in the history of the piece. The metal surfaces with some oxidation, minor surface scratches and minor abrasions consistent with age and gentle use. The ring at the top of the mirror has been replaced with ivorine, matching the original ivory. The tassels with minor surface soiling. The back of the mirror appears to be original, with beautiful figuring to the wood. The mirror has been replaced and presents with a few surface scratches and light surface soiling consistent with age and gentle use. A sculptural mirror with great provenance, very impressive when viewed first hand.
