Condition

Overall very good condition. When viewed in person the wood presents with a warm honey tone, brighter and saturated compared to the printed catalogue illustration. The wood has been revarnished at some point in the history of the piece. The wood surfaces with scratches, abrasions, dents, scattered discolorations, and a few scattered water stains throughout, consistent with age and use and visible in the catalogue illustration. The edges of the box with some abrasions and associated small losses. The proper left front bottom corner with a small chip measuring approximately 1/2 inch wide, visible in the catalogue illustration. The proper right front upper corner with a small crack measuring approximately 1/2 inch. The interior metal lining with scattered surface scratches, discolorations and areas of corrosion, consistent with age and use. A masterfully constructed and highly functional work.
