Condition

Overall in very good condition. The chair has recently been sensitively stabilized by a leading conservator and the metal inlays are all stable. The surfaces present with a few surfaces, minor abrasions, a few discolorations and light surface soiling consistent with age and gentle use. The wood with a few minor edge abrasions along the legs, very few, old and stable worm holes and a few minor and stable cracks to the wood. The underside of the seat with a small element which has been stabilized at the back at some point in the history of the chair, stable. The chair is solid and sturdy. The chair with a small area of losses to the inlays at the center of the front of the seat edge, and another small loss to the proper left side of the front of the base, not visually distracting to the overall design. The metal surfaces with minor discoloration and surface scratches consistent with gentle use. Overall a very good example of a classic design by Bugatti, from the Jacqueline Fowler collection.
