the flaring sides rising from a spreading foot to an incurved rim, covered overall with a lavender-blue glaze thinning to a mushroom tone around the rim and pooling just above the foot

Collection of Mrs. Edwin Sibley Webster (1870-1969), Boston, Massachusetts, and thence by descent.

Condition

At least three long, fine glaze cracks to the interior (longest 13.5 cm) and at least one to the exterior (10 cm), as well as minor expected wear to the surface, and minor manufacturing imperfections (including a few small darkened spots, small burst glaze bubbles, and minute bits of kiln grit particularly to the rim and foot). The foot with two small strokes of cream-color paint and an applied label: "Chun-Yao Sung /or Yuan 960 to 1279 6".
