Description

  • Ceramic
painted at the center with two deer in a rocky river landscape, with ruyi-form clouds above, the flattened barbed rim with an eight-paneled molded border with shaped cartouches enclosing birds, lotus and flowering plants, all reserved on a washed blue ground, the underside painted with alternating insect and lingzhi panels

Condition

The dish is finely potted and in good overall condition. There are kiln adhesions scattered to the front and more densely adhered to the foot rim and base making the dish uneven at the base.There are scattered minor glaze imperfections characteristic of the type of ware. The surface with light wear. The blue is slightly paler than the catalogue illustration.
