A 'LONGQUAN' CELADON-GLAZED CENSER MING DYNASTY

Estimate
7,000 - 9,000 USD
bidding is closed

Description

  • Ceramic
of tapering cylindrical section, the exterior with a wide band of freely carved lotus decoration between raised horizontal filets, supported on three squat scrolled legs, covered overall in a rich sea-green glaze save the pierced base center

Condition

The censer is in mostly good condition, but with minor manufacturing imperfections, including extensive glaze pulls to the base, a glaze pull to the side, burst glaze bubbles to the interior, a slight depression to the rim, and slight unevenness to the rim. The glaze has a slightly deeper tonality than in the printed catalog.
