the ovoid body rising from a splayed foot to a waisted neck and flared mouth rim, boldly painted with a pair of deer emerging from an enclave of pine, bamboo, rockwork and lingzhi, a crane in flight amidst scrolled clouds above, the base inscribed with an apocryphal six-character Chenghua mark

Condition

In overall good condition, except for a small frit above the foot. Some expected light wear to the glaze and foot ring and minor firing imperfections, including some tiny kiln specks to the glaze. The base with old collection labels and a blue marking 'Hoover 019'.
