the deep rounded sides rising from a short foot, covered overall with a lustrous black glaze, suffused with extensive irregular metallic russet 'oil-spots', the glaze falling short of the foot to leave an unglazed area covered with dark brown slip

Condition

In mostly good condition with a lustrous sheen. It has only minor firing imperfections (including two small dimples to the interior wall, one is in-painted), a restored chip to the rim (approx. 1/4 in.), and minor expected wear to the foot. The rim is very slightly irregular in shape. The surface has been cleaned and polished.
