the tapered sides rising from a slightly recessed base to a bulging rounded shoulder, surmounted by a short neck centered with a flange below the lipped rim, covered overall with a lustrous black glaze accentuated with subtle russet splashes, the base left unglazed revealing the buff-colored stoneware body

Condition

The rim is slightly unevenly potted. Otherwise, the jar is in overall good condition with some expected scratches to the surface and minor firing imperfections, including a few scattered glaze gaps to the body and an unglazed area to the neck. The surface has been cleaned and polished.
