the narrow, rectangular T-shaped box comprised of thin panels of attractively-figured wood and beaded rims, with baitong mounts reinforcing the upper corners and sides, a circular lock plate and cloud-headed hasp to the front, rectangular hinges at the back joining the cover to the box, the interior with a fitted tray and two small compartments at either end, the wood of a rich amber color

Collection of Jane and Markus Chaplain, California.

Condition

The inside tray and possibly the hinged covers to either side of the interior replaced. The metal mounts have been replaced. There is shrinkage and a split to the base panel. The surface with wear consistent with age and use.Please note that this lot will require a CITES permit for export outside of the United States.
