the rounded sides rising to an everted rim, painted to the exterior with two sinuous scaly dragons in pursuit of 'flaming pearls' amid fiery clouds, above two tiers of overlapping upright petals, the interior white with a circular blue-ground central medallion enclosing a single dragon, the base with a six-character mark within a double circle in underglaze blue, wood stand (2)
Condition
Restoration to the rim comprising three small chips, one with a short associated crack and another with a longer associated crack (approximately 1 3/4 inch). The rim also has four fritted areas, the longest being 1 1/2 inch. The fifth claw of each dragon paw is effaced by a black flame scroll.Please note that this lot includes a stand, frame or other component made from a type of Chinese hardwood, which, if exported, will require a CITES permit to leave the United States.
