Description

  • soft wood
the rectangular top terminating in everted flanges, above a plain apron with apron head spandrels, the square section legs joined by a stretcher and flanking an openwork double ruyi panel, covered overall in a rich reddish-brown lacquer

Condition

There is a long split stroke and replacement lacquer (brown) along the top surface, and multiple crackling and loss of lacquer overall. Lacquer loss and raised area on one area of support to one leg. There is old splitting to the ruyi panels to the side of the upright legs for both sides, and some associated repairs.
