carved seated wearing a long flowing robe and a scholar's hat, his right hand gently stroking his long beard, his left arm resting on the pierced rock, the ivory patinated to a warm honey tone to the back

Condition
The carving is in good condition with the exception of some minor age-related lines in the ivory and a small area of circa 1 x 1.5cm., containing of smaller (circa 5mm.) repaired and filled sections at the upper left side of the chest.
