Description

  • cloisonne enamel, bronze
of lobed form, the rounded sides rising to an everted foliate rim, the domed cover with a gilt-knopped finial, decorated with bats amongst stylised lotus on a turquoise ground

Christie's London, 7th November 2012, lot 791.

Condition

This has had a thin band of restoration around the perimeter of the rim and to various areas of the body. The gilding is rubbed to various areas to the outer rim, the internal rim the underside of the rim and most of the gilding is lost to the base.
