with canted incurved corners and shallow rounded sides, supported on a straight foot of corresponding shape, the interior elaborately carved with a scene depicting a group of scholars on horseback riding to a pavilion with their assistants, the landscape laden with verdant vegetation and rocky cliffs, the exterior with four sinuous writhing dragons above a petal lappet band, the base lacquered black

Condition

This dish is in good condition, but there are some ares of re-lacquering/restoration to the rim and to the foot. There is also some minor cracking to the rim and to areas below the rim to the interior.
