standing on a sack holding a peach in his outward stretched right hand, wearing long robes that have fallen open to reveal his front, the face with a joyous expression

Provenance

Collection of Vilhelm Meyer (1878-1935).
Thence by descent to the present owner.

Condition

There is restoration to the vertically hanging tied sash to the front, as well as an approx. 2cm area of re-polishing diagonally below this where this would have originally terminated. The right hand is most likely a replacement. There are numerous firing cracks and crazing to the glaze to the back and lower section of the figure and there is an approx. 2cm by 0.9cm area of polishing to the surface at the left shoulder.
