seated in lalitasana on a pierced rockwork base and holding a pearl in the left hand, wearing flowing robes that open at the front, the face with a broad smiling expression

Provenance

Collection of Vilhelm Meyer (1878-1935).
Thence by descent to the present owner.

Condition

This figure is in reasonable condition, however, there is an area approximately 4 by 4cm of reworking/restoration of the rockwork base to the lower right side. There is also a polished out chip to the left lapel of the robe by the chest, approx. 2.7cm by 6mm. There is also a polished out chip to the tip of the front left section of the rockwork, approx. 1.6cm by 3mm. There are also numerous firing cracks to the interior of the base, smaller ones to the exterior of the base and one to the left side of the back of the figure. There are also some scratches to the glaze to the belly and to the top of the head.
